A garden, then, is a fortified area, a
fenced in area, an area intended by
design to be defended. From the human
point of view, sometimes that means an
area surrounded with very high concrete
walls, razor wire and security guards
with fully automatic weapons.
Sometimes, that means an area where
the citronella candles have been burning
for a while. But, from The EVER-
LIVING’s point of view, starting from a
time that well predates razor wire,
automatic weapons, chicken wire,
barbed wire, castle walls, moats, armies,
or backyards or porches where it’s handy
to have some form of anti-mosquito
system, the fortified area, the fenced in
area, the area intended to be defended
wasn’t any particular “place” on the
globe. It was anyplace where “the
protected ones” existed. To be “in the
Garden” is to be “in God’s protection.”
To be “in the fenced in area” is to be “in
God’s protection.”
While we can talk about gold as a
medium of exchange, the remaining 98%
of the lesson comes from seeing the
origin of the concept, for it is by using
the honest system of weights and

under God’s protection. And, to
understand the whole of the Law, at a
foundational perspective, is to see this
lesson, generally. To follow God’s Law,
generally, is to bring ourselves up under
His protection, i.e., to seek to be in His
Garden, as it were.
China, maybe Africa, maybe the
poles shifted due to the passing of some
“black hole” or other (which concept
derives from the Planet X theory).
Determining the geographic location of
the Garden matters, but far more
important, far more fundamental to this
lesson, is the understanding that the
Garden is a “protected area.” And, not
just any ol’ protected area, but the area
protected by GOD ALMIGHTY, Himself.
Gold, then, isn’t a concept that is
necessarily limited to a precious metal
coined for economic exchange purposes.
Gold (protection, fortification) is a by-
product of obedience, generally, for by
golden behavior (thought, word, deed),
we find ourselves up under His
Protection, thus, in His Garden, thus in
His “protected area.”
There are two more analogies to
include here before moving on with the
rest of the word study on gold. First,
where Paul describes the “armor of God”
in Ephesians 6, what’s he talking about?
He’s talking about gold, in the most
foundational sense of the term, for he’s
talking specifically to the by-product of
obedience. One theme of his entire
letter to the Ephesians is “Godliness”
and how and why we know that

Godliness matters. So, in concluding
and summarizing his position, Paul
teaches us to be obedient, from head to
toe, in every thought, word and deed.
The armor of God is largely defensive
(with the perspective of facing the
enemy, not running, for there is precious
little covering the back in Paul’s
description). Into what general
understanding do all of the elements fit?
Belt of truth, breastplate of
righteousness, shoes of good news of
peace, shield of faith, helmet of
salvation, sword of the Spirit. The
general foundation of which these are
elements is obedience. The armor, the
protection, the defense, the fortification,
follows from obedience. It is the
obedient who embody these, and who
think upon them, talk about them and
put them into practice. Thus, it is the
obedient who are wearing the full armor
of God. It is the obedient who are found
“in the Garden,” who are “protected,”
thus, who are the gold, the “defended,”
the “fortified.”
Secondly, these characteristics, and,
more applicably, the people who practice
these characteristics, are the “streets of
gold” that are identified in the
Revelation to John. Truth, in
particular, is the avenue of commerce in
the Kingdom. The people who practice
truth, in particular, are the avenues of
commerce and of communications in the
Kingdom. Gold, being a rather soft
metal, is not exactly the material a
competent engineer will use as a
pavement for a street. Therefore, it
follows that we’re not talking about an
actual physical condition. We could be,
to be sure, but that’s not the point of the
analogy. The point of the analogy is

that in the Kingdom, gold is what covers
the avenue upon which, by which,
everything moves. Thus, gold
(protection) being the by-product of
obedience, obedience is the foundation of
the Kingdom, and everything moves as a
consequence of the obedience. Truth,
righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and
Spirit, are the characteristics of those
who desire simply to be obedient, and
through such obedience, constantly
worship their EVER-LIVING GOD.
Obedience produces gold (protection).
Where obedience is the cause, the effect
is God’s protection, for our EVER-LIVING
GOD is the Defender, the Protector, the
Lord of Hosts to all who would seek to
attack those obedient to Him.
The perfect national defense plan,
the perfect “homeland security,” as both
the Nazi’s and communists (KGB) have
labeled it, the perfect protection against
“terrorism,” however that may be
defined today, is the very same perfect
plan that our EVER-LIVING GOD taught
Adam and Eve in the Garden. In its
most generic sense, that protection is
called gold. At the most foundational
level, gold is the by-product of obedience
to the Law of God. From our obedience
to His Law comes His Protection.1 And,
at the economic level, gold, as in
precious metal that has a particular
shade of yellow (unless it’s white gold,
which looks a lot like silver), is part of
that honest system of weights and
