What are Packages?

Note that types refers to classes, interfaces, enumerations, and annotation types.
Types are often referred to simply as classes andinterfaces since enumerations and annotation types arespecial kinds of classes and interfaces, respectively, sotypes are often referred to simply as classes andinterfaces.
Benefits of Packaging
You and other programmers can easily determine thatthese classes and interfaces are related.
You and other programmers know where to find classesand interfaces that can provide graphics-relatedfunctions.
The names of your classes and interfaces won't conflictwith the names in other packages because thepackage creates a new namespace.
You can allow classes within the package to haveunrestricted access to one another yet still restrictaccess for types outside the package.
