IMMUNITY – is the body’s specificprotective response to an invadingforeign agent or organism.; ability of the body to fight or conquer infection.
IMMUNE SYSTEM
Function:
1. defense against physical injuryand infection
2. maintenance of homeostasis, astate of equilibrium of the internalenvironment
 
ORGANS and tissues of the immunesystem
Bone marrow– production site of RBC,sWBC,s and platelets. It’s primaryfunction is hematopoiesis(formation of blood cells)
 Thymus –is a single unpaired gland thatis located in the mediastinum and isthe primary gland of the lymphaticsystem. Its primary function is allowingthe T lymphocytes to develop beforemigrating to the lymp nodes and thespleen.
