yes
, this article will help you turn this trend around. Implementthe following suggestions on a regular basis to create a motivational climate and to inspire youremployees to inject energy and enthusiasm into their performance.
The Difference Between Morale and Motivation
Anytime you put a group of people in a room and ask them to perform a job, there emerges agroup attitude that is commonly referred to as morale.
Morale encompasses employees’
attitudes toward their work, their coworkers, their customers, and even themselves.
We tend to describe morale as high or low, as if it was a temperature, and in some ways it is. Inworkplaces where morale is high, employees approach their work with energy, enthusiasm, andwillingness. They want to come to work, and are enthusiastic about work once they get there. Onthe other hand, when morale is low, employees can become bored, discouraged, and lethargic.
Motivation, on the other hand, refers to employees’ drive to get the job done.
Highly motivatedemployees tend to be high producers, but that does not necessarily mean their morale is high.

People are often motivated by “negative incentives” such as a fear of losing their job, an excessive
need for rewards, or an overly competitive need to outperform a colleague.
Understanding morale and motivation is vital to creating a high-performance workplace.
