Task 1. (Sing with others.) Sing the song, with a small group.

Task 2. (Sing alone.) Sing the first line in sol-fa, the second line in treble note
names.
Task 3. (Play alone): play the melody on the recorder (in G), or tuned percussion
and/or the ukulele*/guitar OR play the accompanying chords on ukulele or tuned
percussion. (*Ukulele can try the easier version in C)
Task 4: (Play with others) Perform with a group or others – some singers,
recorders, ukuleles…make a band.

Alternative assessment (by permission)


Instead of Task 3 Learn and perform the conga or bongo accompaniment part.

Otherwise, strum D (down) with a relaxed hand. U (Up) lets the thumb ‘catch’ the
strings on the way back up.
