InternshipResponsibilities:
AssistMSGAincreatingmultimediaprojectsfeaturingranchersdiscussinganimportantissuethattheyfaceontheirranches.TheprimarydutywillbetoassistMSGAincreatingmultimediaprojectsthatwillbepostedonlinetohelpeducatethemedia,generalpublicandlegislatorsabouttheimportantissuesfacingMontana’sfamilyrancherstoday.TheinternwilltraveltoranchestointerviewranchersoncameraaboutissuessuchastheCleanWaterRestorationAct,brucellosis,theestatetax,privatepropertyrightsandpublicaccess.Theinternwillberequiredtoprepinterviewees,conducttheinterview,shootvideo,editvideoandproduceaone-minutecliptobeuploadedonYouTubeandsharedonothersocialmediasites.Multimediaeffortswillbeexpectedtoincludephotographsandwell-writtenarticlesthatmaybepublishedinourmonthlynewsletteroronourblog.OtherdutieswillincludeworkingwiththeMSGAcommunicationsstafftoenhancetheorganization’ssocialmediaoutreach,includingcreatinguniquecontentforMSGA’sblogandFacebookpage;issuesresearchandmessagecrafting;photography;reportingandwriting;creationandorganizationofvideob-roll;andprovidingassistanceatMSGA’ssummerMediaDay.Thisinternshipisagreatopportunitytopracticetheskillsthatarebecomingmoreandmoreimportantinthefieldsofjournalism,publicrelationsandcommunications.ItisalsoanopportunitytolearnaboutfamilyranchersandthelivestockindustryinMontana.Youwillmeetsomefascinatingpeople,researchchallengingandcomplexissues,andhavetheopportunitytocreatememorableandlastingmultimediaprojects.
