Library staff develops strategic plan
On December 4, 2009, library staff gathered in the Texas Star Café private dining room to begin the process of developing a strategic plan for 2010-2013. Forty staff members were assigned to small groups to work on thestrategic mission, vision, and goals that will guide the library’s development over the next four years.Librarians and members of the staff who attended the strategic planning session represented UT HealthScience Center libraries in San Antonio, Harlingen and Laredo.Following the initial strategic planning session a smaller planning team refined the mission, vision, and goals.A draft was presented to the Library Advisory Committee on February 4. The Library Advisory Committeereviewed the plan and made some helpful recommendations. Revised versions of the Mission, Vision andGoals statements can be found on the next page. The next step in the strategic planning process will occur on March 12, when library staff will once again meetas a group to begin developing objectives that will move the library toward its goals.Rajia TobiaExecutive Director of Libraries
