Paralegals, or legal assistants as somepeople call them, work under the directiono a lawyer or lawyers in law oces.Paralegals perorm tasks that are delegatedto them by lawyers. Tey perorm many o the same duties as lawyers, but withoutlegal jurisdiction.Some tasks include helping lawyersprepare or closings, hearings, trials andcorporate meetings. Paralegals alsoinvestigate acts or cases and make surethat all inormation pertaining to the caseis considered. Paralegals identiy all laws,regulations, similar case hearings and any other material pertaining to the case at hand. Tey ensure that the lawyer has all necessary inormation when dealing with a case.Paralegals also work drating contracts, mortgages, and separation agreements. Tey assist in preparing taxreturns, establishing trust unds, and planning estates. Tey may prepare legal arguments, drat pleadings,and motions to be led in court. Tey get adavits, assist lawyers during trials and do anything elselawyers need them to do.
