1678Joseph Moxon wrote about a hiddenfire in heated lime that appears upon theaddition of water.
 
1818Maurice St. Leger was issued patentsfor hydraulic cement. Natural Cement was produced in the USA. Natural cement islimestone that naturally has the appropriateamounts of clay to make the same type of concrete as John Seaton discovered.
 
1828I. K. Brunel is credited with the first engineering application of Portland cement,which was used to fill a breach in theThames Tunnel.
 
1880 J. Grant of England show theimportance of using the hardest and densest portions of the clinker. Key ingredients were being chemically analyzed.
1891George Bartholomew placed the first concrete street in the USA in Bellefontaine,OH. It still exists today!
