All new teaching staff K-12 will complete the District Induction Plan that includestrainings and awareness/understanding of the following items:1. Mission, Vision, Shared Values, and Strategic Plan2. PA Academic Standards and Assessment Anchors3. District and Building policies and procedures4. Employment information such as benefits, handbooks, communication structure,and information access5. Code of Professional PracticeAll new employees that are not teachers will receive the following trainings andinformation awareness as a part of their transition into the District:1. Employment information such as benefits, handbooks, communication structure,and information access2. District, Building, and Department policies and procedures3. Annual trainings per mandated standards
Assessment Processes
The District Induction Council maintains responsibility that all of the components of the Induction Plan are met. The Induction Council will adopt the Self-NeedsAssessment Survey as a pre-employment survey tool and as a post-inductionevaluation tool. The Induction Council will also develop a yearly calendar toaccomplish all the items listed below for new employees and to insure the goals of the Induction Plan are met. The Induction Council will meet at least two timesannually to assess the effectiveness of the Induction Plan, monitor the data collectedfrom new employees, and make adjustments to the Induction Plan as necessary.Additionally, the Director of Human Resources and Director of Curriculum will meetwith all new teachers at least three times per year to gather candid feedback andmonitor the Induction Plan process.The individual needs of all new employees will be assessed through the following atthe beginning of each employee's hiring period:

Pre-employment meetings

Self-needs assessment surveys
•
Mentor checklist of topics for new employees
•
Information from employment interview by the building principal orsupervisor
•
Self-evaluation from Induction TrainingsThroughout the school year, the new employee, the mentor, and the buildingprincipal or supervisor will monitor the information collected from the many needsassessment tools and use this information to support the growth and success of thenew employee. At the end of the school year, the Inductee evaluation form will becompleted and analyzed by the new employee, mentor, and building principal orsupervisor to determine if there is a need for additional training or mentoring.Additionally, recommendations from the new employees regarding the Induction Planare incorporated, as appropriate, into the Plan for the following school year.
