This program option has been designed to assist new and largecommercial construction projects within the CRA boundary. Forexisting structures, the program awards incentive funds for a portionof interior and exterior improvement costs to commercial realproperty for applicants. The grant amount is computed bycalculating 80% of improvement costs, multiplied by the city’smilage rate for 15 years. Maximum CRA grant awards cannot exceed$80,000.The following conditions will be determined by the CRA, basedon a case by case basis:

1.
APPLICATION DRAFT - preliminary applicationcompleted by business, assisted by BRIC, andsubmitted to the CRA to discuss the businessimprovement and limits and conditions of availableincentive programs.
2.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT MEETING,(optional basedon code requirements)- with Planner for zoning andland use determinations regarding construction andrenovation plans.
3.
FINAL APPLICATION SUBMITTAL TO CRA PROJECTMANAGER- to be placed on the next available CRACommission agenda.4.COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCYCOMMISSION, REVIEW FOR APPROVAL/DENIAL.
5.
CRA GRANT EXECUTION - CRA staff sends letter toapplicant indicating CRA decision. If approved, CRAstaff executes grant agreement award(s) - within 1week of CRA approval.
