This program option awards grant funds to improvecommercial real property. The program focus is onimproving the property located along the major right-of-waycorridors in the CRA. The applicant is required to invest upto $10,000 for improvements to building and/or site. Theapplicant will be eligible for a grant from the CRA for up to$40,000, based on $1 private, for every $4 public match.Grant awards cannot exceed $40,000; however, applicantsmatch can exceed $10,000. Applicants requiring CRA grantawards exceeding $40,000 must apply to theComprehensive Enhancement Incentive Option, describedbelow.
The following condition will be determined by the CRA, based ona case by case basis:If Application requires the following:

Interior Design Plan
(Maximum reimbursement amounts for each of the above costs cannot exceed$750)

1.
APPLICATION DRAFT - preliminary applicationcompleted by business, assisted by BRIC, andsubmitted to the CRA to discuss the businessimprovement and limits and conditions of availableincentive programs.
2.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT MEETING, (optional basedon code requirements) - with Planner for zoning andland use determinations regarding construction andrenovation plans.
3.
FINAL APPLICATION SUBMITTAL TO CRA PROJECTMANAGER- to be placed on the next available CRACommission agenda.4.COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMET AGENCY COMMISSION, REVIEW FOR APPROVAL/DENIAL.
5.
CRA GRANT EXECUTION - CRA staff sends letter toapplicant indicating CRA decision. If approved, CRA

staff executes grant agreement award(s) - within 1week of CRA approval.
NOTE:
A business plan, exterior rendering, or interiordesign plan may be required, as determined by CRA,and would be an allowable reimbursable if incentivegrant is approved.Incentive option must be substantially completewithin 1 year of grant agreement.
