Due to some blog comments, I have come to realize there are certain myths concerningAfrica, some totally ridiculous and some sort of true.

7:Africa is a single country.

This is funny, how can someone think Africa is a single country, please spare me. Africa as itturns out is a continent made up of various people of different nationalities and cultures.The continent has like 53 countries, and over 2 000 distinct languages.

6: All we do is kill each other.

I blame the movies. Take for example the

‘Last king of Scotland’

‘ BloodDiamond’ .

It makes it seem like all Africans know how to do is fight and oppress eachother.Most people honestly and innocently think that most African countries are experiencing warand poverty.Also since they think we are one country, it means we are all just fighting over this hugemysterious forest place.

5: We are all Black

It just turns out that not all Africans are black. take for example the Egyptians. They mostlylike to call themselves Arabs and have this light skin. Countries with non-black Africansinclude the northern African countries.Also some people migrated from Europe long ago and incidentally call themselves Africans.That includes white South Africans,.The same goes for various Asians.

4: We are all corrupt

This is true to some extent.Truthfully the regular African experiences more bribery, incitation and other sort of negativestuff than they’re Western counterparts. It comes with the surrounding.Corruption is however relative since everywhere has its own fair bit of corruption.

3. We are all poor

It seems that most people treat Africans like beggars, or some low life individuals who can’tmaintain they’re own upkeep. Look for example at how hard it is for an African to get a visa
