QD4.2 Are you in favour or opposed to the use of these different sources energy in (OUR COUNTRY)?Oil
Despite their large share in the energy mix of today, oil, gas and coal are clearly less accepted than renewableenergy sources.Respondents in the new Member States are consistently more positive about the use of fossil fuels in theircountry. 56% are in favour of gas, 41% of oil and 38% of coal. The respective figures for EU15 are 39% for gas,26% for oil and 23% for coal. The acceptance of these energy sources appears to vary to some extent depending on which of them is widelyused in a given country. For example, Polish respondents are most likely to accept the use of coal, presumablybecause it is the most used energy source in their country.
