The Classroom Learning Experience
DCUBusiness School is committed toanactive,interactiveand participative learning experience that is facilitated byourFaculty.The MHRS programme seeks toengage participants inhighlevel strategicanalysis and toassist them indeveloping thepersonal attributes critical toleadership success.Tothisend,we believe that the classroom and widerlearningexperience must be inculcated by a spirit of inquiry,grouplearning,and active engagement and participationbyall participants.We seek tomaximise peer-to-peerlearning.Toachieve thislearning,we believe that classes must comprise smallnumbers of students.We therefore limit classes to25students.We recognise that the DCUMHRS alumni community of business leaders is a valuable network forourMHRSstudents and we facilitate interactionbetweencurrentand past students.
Students attend the programme ona weekly basis (one dayperweek) whenclasses are delivered from 2pm to8pm.Eachsemesterruns for12weeks.SemesterOne eachyearisfrom SeptembertoDecember,while SemesterTwois fromFebruary toApril.
The DCU Environment
The DCUMHRS programme is delivered inthe newpurpose-built executive educationfacility housed inDCUBusinessSchool.This facility has beencustomised tomeet the needsof post experience students.It is bright and spacious,withclassrooms that facilitate maximum participationandclass interaction.WithinDCUBusiness School,students have access tosmallstudy rooms forgroup assignments and forcollaborativestudy;computerrooms;a coffee shop and restaurant;alarge ‘openspace’witha balcony that facilitates networkingand social interaction;and full wireless Internet access.The award-winning
is amodernstudy facility withprivate study space,collaborativestudy rooms,and anextensive collectionof business booksand journals.MHRS students have access toourextensiveonline library resources.These resources canbe accessed off campus and allowfordownloading of academicmaterialand company information.This facility is very useful forexecutive part-time students and assists them tocompleteassignments and tostudy while off campus.DCU’s moderncampus offers excellent student facilities,whichinclude fourrestaurants,The Hub student centre,TheHelix performing arts centre,a world-class sports complex,retail outlets and banking facilities.The entire DCUcampusis wireless enabled.
The MHRS is anintensive learning experience and asignicant commitment forpart-time students.Duringthe two-yearprogramme,students are supported bythe Administrative Team inThe Centre forExecutiveProgrammes.This team is very experienced indealingwiththe needs of managers whoare working full-timeand attending ourprogramme ona part-time basis.Theydelivera very highquality customerservice.The team is led by the Head of Operations forthe Centreand is specially trained incustomercare.Academicdirectionis the responsibility of the academicteaching staff and theprogramme director.
Getting to DCU
DCU’s locationinGlasnevin,northDublin,makes it veryconvenient tothe M50and the M1 motorways and toDublinCity Centre.There is a multi-storey carpark oncampus.
Buses that stop close tothe campus include
Drumcondra Railway Stationis close toDCU.The
buslinks DCUwithHowthJunctionDART Station,while the

Anhonours degree orprofessional qualication
At least three years’managerial/professional workexperience inthe broad area of humanresourcemanagement (including areas suchas training anddevelopment,employee relations,etc.) orextensiveexperience inmanaging humanresource issues.Applicants must be ina positiontoundertake andimplement project-based assignments withintheirwork organisations.Selectionof applicants may includeaninterview.
