First impressions count. a professional consultant who doesn’ttake the time to maintain a professional appearance presents theimage of not being able to perform adequately on the job. Our  professional dress code is codified because many professionals have never  been taught appropriate professionalappearance and demeanor.Professional dress code standards arealive and well in major financial andexecutive management. Anyone whoaspires to top management knows that personal appearance counts.
is an aspect of human physical appearance, and like other aspects of human physical appearance it has social significance. All societies have
dress codes
, most of which areunwritten but understood by most members of the society. The dress code has built in rules or signals indicating the message being given by a person's clothing and how it is worn. This message may includeindications of the person'ssocial class, income, occupation, ethnic and religious affiliation, attitude, marital status, sexual availabilityand sexual orientation. Clothes convey other social messagesincluding the stating or claiming personalor cultural identity, the establishing, maintaining, or defyingsocial group norms, and appreciating comfort and functionality. For example, wearing expensive clothes can communicatewealth, theimageof wealth, or cheaper accessto quality clothing. All factors apply inversely to the wearing of inexpensive clothing andsimilar goods. The observer sees the resultant, expensive clothes, but may incorrectly perceive the extent to which these factorsapply to the person observed. (cf.conspicuous consumption).Clothing can convey a social message, even if none is intended.

The America’s
Theindigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coasthad acomplex social structure, including slaves, commoners, and nobles, and dress codes to indicate these social distinctions.John R. Jewitt,an Englishman who wrote a memoir about his years as a captive of the Nuu-chah-nulthpeople in 1802-1805, describes how, after some time living there,Maquinaand the chiefs decided that hemust now be "considered one of them, and conform to theicustoms". Jewitt resented the imposition of this dress code, findingthe loose untailored garments very cold, and attributed to them asubsequent illness of which he almost died. He was not allowed tocut his hair, and had to paint his face and body as a Nootka would.

Various traditions suggests that certain items of clothingintrinsically suit differentgender roles. In particular, the wearingof skirtsandtrousershas given rise to common phrases expressing implied restrictions in use and disapproval of offending behavior. For example, ancient Greeks often considered the wearing of trousers byPersianmen as a sign of effeminacy.

Body Art
Of course our dress code prohibits tattoos. They can be seen asunprofessional, low-class and ignorant , and at no time may a consultanthave a visible tattoo. Read details about why most corporations prohibittattoos.Professional dress code and Tattoos
A suit means a SUIT; sport coats and slacks are not allowed. Thesuit must be dark blue, gray or charcoal, (except for tropicalengagements) be “well tailored
”, and have no loose threads, "pills" or "nurdles".
A crisp white shirt is always required. French cuffs are optional. Ihave seen consultants turned away at the door of banks because of their hot pink dress shirt.
