How to Start and Run Your Own SuccessfulHot Dog Cart / Hotdog Stand Business.
My Name is Steve Schaible and I started a successful hot dog cartbusiness for under $500, which I sold a few years later for fivefigures. I want to show you exactly how I did it, and how you can doit too. For more free hot dog cart information including audiointerviews with the biggest names in the business, go tohttp://www.HotDogProfits.com.Before we begin, I want you to know that hot dog carts areprobably the best business opportunity in the world. Why?1. Low start up costs. You can start this business for less than$500 in most cases.2. High profit margins. For every dollar that a customer spends, you'll keep about seventy cents. That's huge!3. This is a cash business. Every day is pay day.4. Ease of entry. All you need are a few easily obtainablelicenses and permits and you're ready to go.5. Independence. Work when you want, where you want. You'rethe boss.6. Flexibility. You can do this full time and make a fantasticliving, or just work weekends for extra spending money.7. High Income. You can make $3000 a week or more. Manyhot dog cart vendors make over $100,000 per year!8. Low stress. Sleep late, work for three hours, make a fewhundred dollars and be back home before the kids get out of school.
Before I forget, would you please email me after you get yourcart going and tell me your personal success story. I have abunch of them already, but I never tire of hearing them. Send itto steve@HotDogProfits.com.The purpose of this course is to answer some of the basicquestions that most people have about the hot dog cartbusiness. Each lesson is delivered in the following format: FirstI will cover some of the basics of starting a hot dog cartbusiness from the ground up. I think you will be pleasantlysurprised how easily and inexpensively this can beaccomplished. This is the "meat" of this mini course – info youneed to know in order to decide if the hot dog cart business isfor you. Then I will answer one or two questions that peoplehave asked me via email.Lesson #1: Do You Have What it Takes to Succeed?*******************************************************Let's break this down into sections.A. People SkillsDo you like people? One of the factors that determines success orfailure in this business is the way you treat your customers. This jobis very similar to being a bar tender. A lot of customers like to makesmall talk while you serve them and a bit of conversation will go along way to ensure that they become "regulars". Unlike lunch at thebig fast food chains, eating at a hot dog cart is a fun, uniqueexperience. Be friendly and personable, and you will have a boatload of repeat customers.B. PerseveranceWhen you start a project do you see it through to completion? Somepeople do and some don't. Starting a hot dog cart business is not atall difficult, but it takes a bit of "stick–to–itiveness". There will bedays when it's not all smooth sailing. You need to be able toovercome the inevitable bumps in the road without giving up. It'sworth it!
C. Self DisciplineBeing your own boss is one of the best feelings there is. There'snothing like total freedom, but with total freedom comes a lot of responsibility. Here's the bottom line. Do you automatically do thethings that need to be done, or are you the kind of person who needsto be told what to do? When you're the boss there's no one to blamewhen things don't go right.D. FinancesMost people think they have to be in great financial shape to start abusiness, and in most cases that's true. But not in the hot dog cartbusiness. I can't think of any other business that you can start for solittle money (without quitting your day job) and have a really goodshot at making a six figure income. You can start on weekends doingfairs and festivals. In fact, a lot of cart operators just do specialevents every now and then. It's not uncommon to make severalthousand dollars in a single day. You can fire your boss wheneveryou feel comfortable in your new business. Start up costs vary bylocation, but you can lease a cart and get all your permits for lessthan $500 in a lot of cases. If you can't afford to start a hot dog cartbusiness, you probably can't afford to start any business.Q and A...This situation is a bit unique, but it illustrates how to think creativelyand put every advantage to good use. “Hi Steve, I just recently bought your book online and I have decidedto go for it. My situation is a little bit more fortunate then the normalperson. My father owns some commercial properties. One of hisproperties has a small garage that he will let me make into a small sitin and drive thru place. I know I will have to leap through morehoops to get this done. I do plan on getting a cart also, so I canhave a portable option. Do you have any advice? Thanks” - JenniferHi Jennifer,Congratulations! How exciting. Yes, you would have to jump througha lot more hoops, but I have an idea that will save you a lot of trouble. The health department will make you comply with all the
