Presentation:
Set:Introduce today’s topic. Small chat with students about weather etc.Have a list on white board explaining what we will be doing today:
Communication and decision-making presentation
Cell phone activity/competition
Outdoor survival exercise
Communication scenarios
Exit slip5 min.Development: (In Classroom)

Go though prezi (http://prezi.com/3wkuk41ueger/) up to slide 3. Discusseach slide with students.2.Cell phone activity. All students take out their cell phone and have 3minutes to send out text messages to anyone they might know in anattempt to contact someone who is geographically very far away. Oncethey have sent the messages the phones will be set aside and we willcome back to them later to see the replies/furthest received text.*An alternative is to have them find out the breakfast of as many people they cangiven 3 minutes to text.

3.Decision Making Activity – Outdoor Survival Exercise (see attached)4.Continue and Finish Prezi presentation (see link above). Highlighting keypoints of communication (skills, forms, listening etc.). Discussion andexplanation is key here!5.Communication Scenarios – hand out communication scenario sheet. Thescenarios are based on solving communication problems. The studentsneed to think critically to overcome the obstacle in each of the 3 scenarios.6.EXIT SLIP:
List 4 of the communication skills we talked about today in class.Also list 2 ways you think we can improve our communication as aclass/company. Explain.40 min.Closure:Review what was learned today. Take questions if they have any. Give studentsthe last 5-10 minutes to make sure all final preparations for tomorrow’s Asianfood sale are done.
