It provides a perspective on future trends, shocks,contexts, and implications for future joint force commanders andother leaders and professionals in the national security eld. Thisdocument is speculative in nature and does not suppose to predictwhat will happen in the next twenty-ve years. Rather, it is intendedto serve as a starting point for discussions about the future securityenvironment at the operational level of war.
