A Walk For Water

Directions to parking at Lake Needwood and to A Walk For Water at Lake Frank
Parking is limited at Lake Frank. We strongly encourage carpooling. Please park at Picnic
Area 2 at Lake Needwood. Some overflow parking will be available at Picnic Area 3. School
buses will shuttle you to Lake Frank, which is less than a mile away. At the end of the walk or
after you have a picnic, the bus will shuttle you back to your car.

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY (by 8:30 AM) SO THAT YOU ARE NOT LATE FOR THE 10 A.M.
RALLY! ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO TAKE THE SHUTTLE BUS!

Bus Schedule
Lake Needwood to Lake Frank: 8:30 am until 10 am.
Lake Frank to Lake Needwood: 12 noon until 2 pm.

From Bethesda
Take Rockville Pike/MD 355 North
Turn Right on 1st Street
Stay straight to go onto MD 28 East/Norbeck Road
Turn Left on Avery Road
Drive almost 2 miles.
(After 1 mile, you will pass Lake Frank on the right.)
Turn Left at Lake Needwood.
At end of entrance road, turn left and an immediate right into Picnic Area 2 parking lot.

From Silver Spring

Take Georgia Avenue/MD 97 North
Turn Left onto MD-28/Norbeck Rd.
Turn Right onto Muncaster Mill Rd/MD 115
Turn Left onto Avery Road
Turn Right at Lake Needwood.
At end of entrance road, turn left and an immediate right into Picnic Area 2 parking lot.

From I-270 N
Exit onto MD 28 East
Follow Rt. 28 through Rockville
(Rt. 28 turns left after Rockville Pike)
Turn Left on Avery Road
Drive almost 2 miles.
(After 1 mile, you will pass Lake Frank on the right.)
Turn Left at Lake Needwood.
At end of entrance road, turn left and an immediate right into Picnic Area 2 parking lot.
