Your effort will raise awareness for the plightof the children and their families who live in the Azawak region of West Africa. For them, finding water is a daily struggle. It is our hope that by walking together in friendship and solidarity we can bring themhope. We plan to raise funds to support the work of
Amman Imman: Water is Life
Location and Parking
The starting point for the rally and walk is down the paved path from the parking lot at Lake Frank’sAvery Road entrance. However, parking is extremely limited at Lake Frank. Ample parking spacesare available at Lake Needwood, which is about a mile from the Avery Road entrance, but
westrongly encourage carpooling
. Please park at Lake Needwood in Picnic Area 2, accessible fromthe Avery Road; overflow cars can park in some limited additional spaces at Picnic Area 3.
A freeshuttle bus
will transport you and your family from the lot at Lake Needwood to Lake Frank, andthen return you to your car when the event finishes. The first shuttle bus will leave Lake Needwoodat 8:30 am, and run every 15 minutes until 10:00 am. The shuttle bus will return you to your car beginning at 12:00 pm. The last shuttle bus will leave Lake Frank at 2:00 pm, allowing you time tohave a picnic lunch.
PLEASE ARRIVE AT LAKE NEEDWOOD EARLY (BY 8:45 AM) TO ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO TAKE THE SHUTTLE AND CHECK-IN BEFORE THERALLY!

Check-in, 9:00 am – 9:30 am
When you arrive at Lake Frank, you will be directed down the paved path across the dam to theCheck-In Table. All participants must check in. Check-In begins at 9:00 am. No monies can bedispensed while on park property. If you bring a friend who wants to register the day of the event,
please do check in at the table
. They will be asked to send the registration fee and sponsorshipdonations to: Oneness-Family School, c/o A Walk For Water, 6701 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase,MD 20815.
Checks should be made out to “The Friendship Caravan”
.
Please note: We areasking all students to register ($10); parents as chaperones may walk with the children without registering. All adults who are not chaperoning children should also register. Registration coversoperating expenses associated with the walk, such as the rental of portable toilets, and other costs.The collection of sponsorships is voluntary; however, all adults and children may choose to raise funds in this way.

Rally, 10 am
We will gather at 10 am for inspiration, announcements and photos on a grassy area near the Check-In table.
There may be some surprise guests who will greet us at this time
. The walk will beginfollowing the rally at approximately 10:20 am. Expected walking time is about 2 hours. You arewelcome to leave your blanket and picnic supplies on the grass and have lunch when you finish thewalk.
