Paradigm Shift---What is it and Why it should occur
 A
paradigm
(pronounced “pair-a-dime”) is simply put,an accepted school of thought or a standard process. A
paradigm shift
is the changing of that school of thought orprocess (because it no longer is effective or has no future positiveimpact). Now, how has either of those impacted your life so far?Let's take it from the beginning. As a child, you were born with an amazing mind.Everything was something to be discovered, tasted, felt, heard, touched, smelled, seen, etc. There was nothing outside your “discovery zone”. You were imaginative, creative, vocal, experimental...and so on. Some of us were a little more than that. Then came time to go to school. We learned to “line up” ( a totally unnatural act),“be quiet” ( maybe for the first time in our lives), when to eat, when to play, etc.Prior to that, we had none of those commands or restrictions. That was the beginning of our being placed in a situation where we were instructed in ways that led to our being easily “controlled”.

Later, as we went through our academics, we learned to be even morecontrolled. We made friends, had our little peer groups (of which we made sure toadapt the opinions of others---to be accepted, vs. having our ownunique opinions). We were judged as per the grading standards of thesystem rather than our true, unique abilities (or inabilities) withoutregard to our individual identities. We became grouped, categorized, and segmented in our societies. We became not the “Me-I”, unique individuals we were as children, but became basically what others wanted or expected us to become. If we furthered our academics later in life, such “forced philosophies” were compounded further. Our Universities only served to set us up to be 'workers' for someoneelse's ideals, missions, and stratagems.(This I KNOW—I was a University Professor for 29 years)The University/College did little to bring us back to our own uniqueindividualism.Society wants workers....wants an easily controllable society. It does not want 'free-thinkers-and-doers', a bunch of “loose cannons” they have to constantly monitor. So, over time we were taught elemental philosophies such as:“go to school, get a good education and get a job”,“ work for the company until retirement, and you won't have any financial worries”,“get your credit established and use it...it's the American way”,
