• Khadaffy Abubakar Janjalani

the Filipino militant group Abu
Sayyaf and the leader of one of its
factions.
• Janjalani was also known as Daf
or Pek. He was a citizen of the
Philippines and spoke both
Tausug and Tagalog, as well as
some Arabic.

**All can only speak their mother tongue…
**They had no knowledge of English & were
not Tech-Savvy…
**All enjoyed support base only from their
local area…
**Due to these limitations they had very
small sphere of Influence…

has shook the World….Also it
brought polar shift in the
scenario of Islamic
Militancy….
The Uneducated Mujahids
replaced by English speaking
Educated Jihadis….

Karadogan) who was migrated to
Hamburg,Germany from Egypt for higher
studies,led the group of plane Hijackers,that
shook the world…..This was the beginning of
new era of Islamic Militancy…..Educationally
qualified militants from well to do
families…..Thoughly mixed up with western
Society….
 And a major change……
• Europe & USA became fertile recruiting
ground for Radical Islamic Terrorist
Groups….
• And then world saw birth of American born
Tech-savvy breed of Jehadis…
• e.g. Adam Pearlman alias Adam Yahiye

cultural interpreter, spokesman and media
advisor for the terrorist group Al-Qaeda.He
converted from Christianity to Islam at the
age of 17.
Always featured in video messages
of Al-Qaida,and he is the
International face of the Group.

• He is a Muslim Nigerian citizen &

began his studies at University

2005, where he studied
Engineering and Business
Finance,and earned a degree in
mechanical engineering in June
2008. He was president of the
school's Islamic Society.
• Abdulmutallab has been arrested in failed attempt
to blow up Northwest Airlines Flight 253 mid air on
25 Dec 2009;confessed relations with radical
American Muslim Cleric Sheikh Anwar Al-Awlaki
 5 US Muslim boys arrested in Pakistan…..

• These boys were from North Viginia & aged

from 18 to their early 20s, in a raid on the house by
Pakistan Police in the town of Sargodha.
• They confessed to Police that they had came to
Pakistan to fight US Forces in Afghanistan.

• Al-Awlaki's sermons were
attended by three of the 9/11
hijackers. They were also attended by
the accused Fort Hood shooter, Nidal
Malik Hasan.U.S. intelligence
intercepted emails between Hasan and
al-Awlaki ,

Awlaki praised Hasan's actions.

from across the World.
• Major Nidal Malik Hassan & Abdulmutallab both were his
followers.
• Good orator & convincing writer on Islamic issues.
• Biggest headache for US & European intelligence agencies…

• Colleen LaRose arrested by US Federal agencies for

recruiting Jihadis online to eliminate Lars Vilks, a
Swedesh artist.
• This is the second case after Adam Gadahn in which,US
born Christian converts to Islam & takes part in Jihadi
acts.

Educational & Economic backwardness are
main factor motivating Muslim youth to Jihadi

backwardness of any sort but Strong Motivation
