people directly and personally, as well as indirectly
through the multiple ministries of Campus Crusade and
through his writings, than Bill Bright. According to
George Gallup, Jr., "He has reached people in depth and
in numbers matched by few others in history." -Gordon

every place they have lived. They do not own a car. Over

４ the years, a friend who owns a car dealership has
５ allowed them to drive his demonstration cars. They do
６ not even have a savings account. (p286-287)

wants every individual to share his faith in Christ. What

４ stands in the way of all Christians living fruitful,
５ satisfying, and productive lives? The key... is that every
６ Christian needs to know how to be filled and controlled

evangelism (and hence more new believers), but a happy

teaches more often than the gospel of salvation in

４ Christ, it is the message of how to be filled... by the
５ Holy Spirit through faith. He reasons that if he can teach
６ others how to appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit in
their lives, they in turn can lead others to Christ, and
this will result in the multiplication of evangelism. (p67-

若有任何的信息相比藉基督得救的福音是白立德更

Campus Crusade for Christ is not its commitment to the

４ Great Commission, nor its tools..., nor in its strategies...
５ The real genius has been the emphasis on the ministry of
６ the Holy Spirit.... The Great Commission is the work of
the Holy Spirit. To be filled with the Spirit is not just
victory over sin, holiness, and Christlikeness. It will also
be shown in living out our identity as God's missionaries
to the world. (93-94)

白立德和學園傳道會真正出眾之處不是對大使命的
委身、不是它的工具 ... 也不是它的策略 ... 真正出眾

two booklets to start a conversation with anyone: The

４ Four Spiritual Laws and the Holy Spirit booklet. Either a
５ person needs to know Christ, or the person knows Christ
６ but may not understand the spiritual abundance and
power available to the believer through the Holy Spirit,
or the person should be encouraged to share the content
of these booklets with others.(77)

白立德經常分享到，他只需要兩本小冊子去和任何
人展開一段對話：四律小冊子和聖靈小冊子。若非
那個人需要認識基督，就是那人認識基督卻不明白

１ The vision that God had given Bill was never simply for

the college campus. The campus was to be the primary

４ source of manpower for getting to the world. When I
５ joined the staff of Campus Crusade in 1960, all Crusade
６ had was a campus ministry, but the motto on the wall in
the front of the chapel where Staff Training was held
said, "Win the Campus for Today. Win the World for

Crusade, without reservation the answer will be to give

４ everyone a chance to hear about Jesus. More than just
５ talking about it, Bill has demonstrated this commitment
６ throughout his life. It doesn't matter whether he is in a
taxi, in the supermarket, or walking down the street, he
always tries to pass the message of the gospel to

５ talent, and treasure" to the task of world evangelization.
６ What's more important, he would challenge his listeners:
You can either achieve worldly success in this life or
receive a warm welcome from Jesus, hearing the words,
"Well done, good and faithful servant." (282)

很多時候當向著一群參與學園事工的學生演講時，
他會挑戰他們把本身的｢時間、才幹和財寶｣奉獻在
普世福音化的任務上。更重要地，他會挑戰聽眾：
你可以在今生取得世上成就，或是得到耶穌親切的

４ Dr. Bright explains, "We are engaged in a spiritual
５ ministry, a ministry of changing people's lives, a
６ supernatural ministry ... We must depend upon the
supernatural resources to accomplish supernatural
objectives." (105)

有人也會問：｢一個像學園傳道會的運動為什麼擁有
或需要一份對禱告的看重呢？｣白立德博士解釋：
｢我們正在參與在一個屬靈的事工、一個改變人生命

the promises of God and begin to claim by faith in prayer

４ all that you have been promised, you would experience
５ miracles in your life and ministry, multitudes would be
６ introduced to our Lord Jesus Christ, the whole course of
history would be changed, and you would help fulfill the
Great Commission during your lifetime." (106)

１ Brad Bright, Bill's son, said of his father, "Whenever

things came into his life that I regarded as problems, his

４ first response was always to go to his knees and say,
５ 'Father, what do you want me to do?' It really was just
６ another opportunity to see God work, whether it was big
or small." (103)

白立德的兒子布拉德談到他父親時說：｢每當一些我

necessity of prayer that he he has said that someday he

４ wants to give himself completely to prayer because it is
５ the answer to everything -- funding, administration,
６ results. He believes, "Absolutely, beyond any shadow of
doubt ... the most important thing we as staff can do
individually and corporately is to pray." (107)

白立德博士對於禱告的優先性和必需性有著強烈的

１ Many disciplines characterize his life, but the one that

seems to impact and support all others is prayer. This

４ was true from the very inception of Campus Crusade for
５ Christ, as the movement was actually birthed through
６ prayer. He says, "Vonette and I and our friends
undergirded the ministry in constant prayer. We often
found ourselves praying, 'Lord, where do you want us to
launch this ministry?'" (99)

他生命中有眾多的操練，但有一個操練似乎影響並

Crusade for Christ began in rural areas during the 1960s,

４ usually as a packaged training program... Due to that
５ training, some churches experienced a growth of up to
６ ten times as many people. We selected 300 churches
throughout the nation and trained them as model
churches. All these churches were aflame like the Church

韓國學園傳道會對韓國基督徒的訓練始於一九六○

４ the gospel to groups or even to individuals. Then I came
５ on Campus Crusade staff and received training. As I went
６ into sororities, fraternities, and college dormitories to
present Christ, I began to see many people respond in
faith to the gospel. (63)

Crusade for Christ...For fifty years, Bill has been in the

４ process of finding what works best... A good working
５ definition of effectiveness is: that which brings the best
６ result for the effort and funds expended. Campus
Crusade is always searching for faster, better, less
expensive ways to get the good news of Jesus Christ to
those who have not heard. (133)

事實上｢果效｣是學園傳道會的一個明文的｢價值觀｣
... 五十年來，白立德一直在尋找甚麼帶來最佳效果
... ｢果效｣的一個良好可行的定義是：按著付上的努

１ Reaching and recruiting leaders has also been a goal of

the ministry from the beginning. The first outreach Bill

４ and Vonette made on the UCLA campus was to student
５ leaders... Many staff members came to Campus Crusade
６ from leadership positions in the secular world. They
brought leadership expertise to help many of the
ministries achieve a greater level of effectiveness. (133)

向領袖傳福音並招募他們加入也是事工從一開始的
一個目標。白立德和白薇娜在加州大學洛杉磯分校
的首個傳福音對象就是學生領袖們 ... 很多加入學園
的同工是來自俗世中的領導位置的。他們把領導學

responsibility to sow, but the results are up to God. He

４ also believes that among those who respond to the
５ message are those who will become 30-, 60-, and 100-
６ fold producers... It was these men and women that he
wanted to disciple as leaders in the workforce － those
who would also sow broadly and bring in the harvest.
