System Ramifications
An extensive ripple effect occurs as ODinterventions begin to occur in anorganization.
These effects or implications arising fromthe occurrence of the OD interventions areknown as system ramifications.
OD efforts and HR policies are inevitablyinterdependent.
OD efforts have implications for staffing,rewards, training & development, labor relationsand so on.
Also OD practitioners typically report to senior HR executive.
Furthermore, in some organizations, HRprofessionals are expected to have or developexpertise in OD.
. Resistance to change efforts
Whenever employees perceive possibility of lossof position or status, or loss of use of presentcompetencies, or they have experienced duplicityor futile extra work in past change efforts,resistance is likely to emerge.
Obvious implication is that management shouldreassure people as clearly as possible aboutthose areas that present no need for concern andthose areas that are likely to see benefits, alongwith establishing realistic expectations about thepains and challenges that will occur.
