Digital jewelry is the fashion jewelry withembedded intelligence. “Digital jewelry” canhelp you solve problems like forgottenpasswords and security badges. “Digital jewelry” is a nascent catchphrase for wearableID devices that contain personal informationlike passwords, identification, and accountinformation. They have the potential to be all-in-one replacements for your driver’s license, key chain, business cards, credit cards, healthinsurance card, corporate security badge, andloose cash. They can also solve a commondilemma of today’s wired world – the forgottenpassword.

Soon, cell phones will take a totally new form, appearingto have no form at all. Instead of one single device, cellphones will be broken up into their basic componentsand packaged as various pieces of digital jewelry. Eachpiece of jewellery will contain a fraction of thecomponents found in a conventional mobile phone.Together, the digital-jewellery cell phone should work  just like a conventional cell phone.

The variouscomponents that are inside a cell phone: Microphone,Receiver, Touch pad, Display, Circuit board, Antenna, and Battery.

IBM has developed a prototype of a cell phone thatconsists of several pieces of digital jewellery that willwork together wirelessly, possibly with Blue toothwireless technology, to perform the functions of theabove components.
Cell phones may one day be comprised of digitalaccessories thatWork together through wireless connections.
