CCH President Elected
NEW DELHI AUGUST 7: The election
for the president and vice president of
Central Council for Homoeopathy
(CCH) was held on 7th August 2009 at
Department of AYUSH, Red Cross
Road, New Delhi. The Department
appointed Shri.T.S.Bhatia as returning
officer. Dr.Ramjee Singh, former Vice
President of CCH was elected as
President, and Dr.Arun Bhasme was
elected as Vice president. “I will work
together with the co-operation of all the
members and officials for the
development of Homoeopathy" The
newly elected President Dr.Ramjee
Singh told after the election. “We will
improve the qualities of homoeopathic
education and sacrifice ourselves for
the uplift” said Dr Arun Bhasme, the
new vice president. Homoeopathic
physicians, President and Secretaries of
Homoeopathic organizations, Officials
and Ministers greeted them.

At the instance of the Department of
AYUSH, the Central Council for
Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) had
convened meeting of a Group of
Experts chaired by Dr. Diwan Harish
Chand, Vice President of the Governing
Body of the Council to suggest ways &
means of prevention of present flu
epidemic through Homoeopathy. The
Group of Experts inter-alia has
recommended that homoeopathy
medicine Arsenicum album could be
taken as prophylactic medicine against
flu like illnesses. It has recommended
one doze of Arsenicum album 30, daily
in empty stomach for three days. The
dose should be repeated after one
month by following the same schedule
in case flu like conditions prevail in the
area. The Expert Group has further
suggested that general hygienic
measures suggested by the Ministry of

India, for prevention of the disease
should also be followed by the public.
Maharashtra govt funds
homeopathic research on A (H1N1)
Pune (PTI): Concerned over the spread
of Swine flu cases in the state,
Maharashtra government has decided to
boost homeopathic research on the
H1N1 virus with an initial provision of
Rs five lakh.
Announcing the fund for Dhondumama
Sathe Homeopathy college here at a
workshop on 'Swine flu and
homeopathy', state health minister Dr
Shobha Bachhav, who reviewed the
anti-Swine flu measures over the
weekend, said the research project
would be first of its kind to find an
effective alternative medical treatment
for the infection which has become a
global pandemic.
Dr Batra extends services to mobile
platform; launches mHealth
Homoeopathy chain Dr Batras' Positive
Health Clinic has introduced the
`Health in your hands' scheme, which
allows quick healthcare services. For
this, one should have a GPRS-enabled
mobile, through which doctors can
answer queries via live chat too.
Taking healthcare to the next level, the
WAP-enabled initiative will have
multiple facilities, including
registration, case history in brief, online
chat with doctors for medical queries,
appointment requests, commencing or
renewing treatment plans.

Homeopathy for the treatment of
menstrual irregularities: a case
series
A preliminary study was conducted to
evaluate the usefulness of homeopathic
treatment in the care of menstrual
irregularities. Patients were diagnosed
at the first appointment according to
menstrual cycle over the past year:
Amenorrhea (AM), Oligo-amenorrhea
(OL-AM), OL, Taking hormone
replacement therapy (HRT). All
patients were prescribed an
individualised, global homeopathic
treatment. The main outcomes were:
time to resumption of periods, change
of clinical diagnosis at the end of
follow-up or after 2 years. The
secondary outcomes were: menstrual
regularity at the end of follow-up,
compared to pre-treatment frequency;
flow characteristics; clinical course of
acute and chronic concomitant
symptoms. 18 consecutive cases of
secondary amenorrhea (SA) and
oligomenorrhea (OL) met the entry
criteria. 8 women had SA, 2 were on
HRT, 6 had OL-AM and 2 had OL. The
average duration of considered follow-
up was 21 months. The average time
before the reappearance of
menstruation was 58 days (s.d. 20) in
the 8 women with SA at the time of the
first appointment, for all cases 46 days
(s.d. 42). Change of clinical diagnosis:
50% of women, who were diagnosed
AM, recovered their ovulatory cycle
(OV), whereas 12.5% remained
amenorrheic; 33.3% of patients, who
were initially OL-AM, showed an OV;
100% of oligomenorrheic and HRT
patients recovered an OV. The average
frequency of spontaneous cycles per
year changes from 4.32 (s.d. 1.97) pre-
treatment to 9.6 cycles per year at the
end (s.d. 2.92). Four detailed case
histories are reported.
