He's one of the original masters of figure drawing and was an internationally known illustrator and painter. He illustrated many books on animal and figure drawing that were groundbreaking in their day.

I have been a gr8 fan of dis book (indeed a MASTERPIECE) since d time I first read it way back in 2004....I read dis book from one of my frnd....And after dat i kept on searching 4 dis book........And finally my search ended here........THANKS A MILLION FOR POSTING THIS MASTERPIECE........

A couple of pages are incomplete in my downloaded version. Did it twice just to make sure. Wonder why?

I use this book for my life drawing class. Very good for the artist especially the sophisticated stick figures. It really demonstrates that very simplified drawings can communicate a great deal about what the figure is doing.
It can be very difficult to convey to beginners that what the figure is doing is far more important than what the figure looks like. Likeness come much later.
