Opening Dayon San Francisco Bay - April 25
According to Cruise Captain Charlie
 Agnew, NVYC cruisers will spend April23,24 and 25 joining Opening Day on SanFrancisco Bay festivities at the TreasureIsland Yacht Club.Although plans are not finalized, there will be at least one dinner at the Treasure IslandYacht Club. Bloody Mary’s aboard “C’KingFun” are planned for Friday to celebrate her return from the boatyard. Also on Friday,appetizers and potluck. If you plan on an-choring out in Clipper Cove, contact Charliefor permit information.The weekend is the official opening day of the boating season around the Bay and in-cludes a flag-festooned boat parade and blessings of the fleet sponsored by the PI-CYA. St. Patrick’s Day CruiseTo Loch Lomond Yacht Club
Five boats and one RV made the
trip to Loch Lomond in San Rafael to cele- brate St. Patrick’s Day with dinner at theYacht Club.Cruise Captain Kurt Stahr reported thatthis was one of the smaller turnouts for NVYC. In 2003, only three boats madethe trip due to rough water and rain. Incontrast, 12 boats attended in 2005.On Friday, a welcome cocktail party washeld on “Starship”. Saturday eveningstarted with cocktails on the dock fol-lowed by the traditional St. Patrick’s Daydinner at the club. Tom Hildreth won the prize for blowing the biggest soap bubblefor the Napa Men’s Team.The flotilla: Kurt & Dominique Stahr -“Starship”; Bill & Merrilee Newton -“Why Knot”; Bob & Joy Magoon - “BettyD.”; Scott & Diane Brown - Lady Di”;Tom & Pat Hildreth - “Gently Down theStream” and Gary & Sherrill Schager witha land yacht. The ride home on Sundaystarted early because of a lowering tide.Thank you, Kurt & Dominique!

GREAT NEWS FOR YOUR CLUB!
A new land lease with the City of Napa hasbeen approved by your Board of Direc-tors at a special meeting on March 30. TheCity Council in executive session has ap-proved the lease and authorized city man-ager Parness to sign. Over the last severalyears, many hundreds of hours of volun-teer time expertise and effort have goneinto getting this completed. It is hard tomention some and not all who havehelped. THANK YOU. Thank you forsupport from community leaders formerMayor Ed Henderson, former councilman/ member Ray Sercu, and former supervi-sor/member Harold Moskowite. The nego-tiating team from NVYC include: Eliza-beth Frater, Steve Vartan, Jon Lander,and Clay Parker. Legal counsel was BetsyStrauss.Highlights include:
We have a land lease until 2022 withrent of $320 per month for 6 yearsthen $420 for 6 years.
At the start of the last year of the leasenegotiations must be entered into forextension and if agreement notreached, mediation is required.
The lease does not require improve-ments for the public.
The City may use our club 15 days ayear at our discretion. City must cleanclub and have supervising staff pre-sent.
The parking area is non-exclusive forboth public and club use.
Currently, the flood wall design by theflood district will hamper use of muchof the property. City will work withclub for a better design.

Fay andher husband Bob’s boat,”My Way”, a 38’Eagle trawler, served as their liveaboard before they moved to Edgerly Isla nd and soldthe boat to Bill & Merr ilee Newton. They moved toTrilogy in Rio Vista in 1999. Bob is a past commodoreof the Pt. San Pablo Yacht Club.
