FIFA WORLD CUP

-The FIFA World Cup known as The Football World Cup. It’s an international
Football Competition contested for men’s national team and soon for women.
-The championship has been awarded every four years since the first tournament
in 1930 except in 1942 & 1946 when it wasn’t contested because of The Second
World War. There are 32 national teams that can participate in the competition.
Brazil is the only team to have played in every tournament and to have won the
World Cup five times, Italy has won four titles, Germany is the next with three
then ,Argentina and Uruguay with two titles for each one of them after,
England and France that have won a title both of them.
-The most recent World Cup was held Germany, the next FIFA World up will be
held in South Africa between 11 June and 11 July 2010 and the 2014 World Cup
in Brazil.

* History:
-The first World Cup was in Uruguay, in 1932. In total thirteen nations took part
were: Seven from South America, four from Europe and two from North
America. The first goal in World Cup history was by Lucien Laurent of France.
In the final, Uruguay defeated Argentina 4_2 in front of 93000 people in
Montaviveo and it became the first nation that won The World Cup.
-The 1950 World cup was in Brazil and the first include British team , Uruguay
won the tournament again in a match versus Brazil and this game was one of the
most famous matches in The World Cup history, which was later called “The
Maraconazo”.
-The tournament was expanded to 24 national teams in 1982 then in 1998 to 32
teams. There were 198 nations attempted to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World
Cup, while 204 countries from everywhere on the earth for 2010 World Cup in
South Africa.
