Re: OSTP FOIA No, 07-22
Dear Mr, Anderson:
“This leter responds to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that you submitted tothe
Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). You requested a variety of records related to
the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) mission, from the period January 1, 2000 to the
present.
(OSTP found 13 responsive documents, however, eight of these documents are being withheld
‘pursuant to FOIA exemptions (bX) and (b\2). Specifically, these documents are predecisional
raft documents that include OSTP's deliberative comments und, as such, ae exempt from
disclosure under FOLA pursuant to exemption (b)(5). Additionally, some of these documents
include internal matters of relatively trivial nature and of ho significant public interest and as
‘such, are exempt from disclosure under FOIA pursuant to exemption (b\2).
Finally, five (5) documents have boen refered to other federal agencies for their FOTA review.
You should expect to hear directly from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and
the Office of Management and Budget regarding these records.
| hope this information i useful to you. If you consider tis to be an inappropriate denial of your
request, an appeal may be made in writing within 30 days of receipt of this letter. The letter
should be clearly marked “Freedom of Information Act Appeal.”
Sincerely,
Keli hnacR
