Location: Lost Pines Scout ReservationDirections: Lost Pines Scout Reservation is located near Bastrop, TX. From Austin take Highway 71East to Bastrop. Then from Bastrop, take Highway 95 North. Go approximately fourmiles north then turn right on to FM 1441, the entrance to the camp is approximatelythree miles on the right. From Austin take US 290 East to Elgin. Turn on Highway 95South. Go approximately 12 miles then turn left on to FM 1441, the entrance to the campis approximately three miles on the right. Follow the Scout Law to Lindsay Lodge.Schedule: Check-in will be 6:30 pm on Friday at Lindsay Lodge. Course starts at 7:00 pm. Courseruns thru Sunday noon. Training involves overnight camping on Friday at LPSR andSaturday at Griffith League Scout Ranch. Minimum of 16 hours of training with aminimum of 10 hours of outside instruction will be taught by three Leave No TraceMaster Educators and a couple highly trained Trainers of Leave No Trace.Course Description: Participants receive hands-on training in Leave No Trace skills, ethics, and sevenprinciples of LNT: Plan Ahead and Prepare, Travel and Camp on DurableSurfaces, Dispose of Waste Properly, Leave What You Find, Minimize CampfireImpacts, Respect Wildlife, and Be Considerate of Other Visitors.What to bring: 1. Medical Form (will be return upon graduation on Sunday), paper and pen.2. Tent, sleeping bag, and ground pad3. Clothing appropriate for late summer (inc. rain gear).What will be provided: Cracker Barrel on Friday night and meals on Saturday and Sunday breakfast.Training course materials, lapel pin, and patch will be provided.Fee: Registration is $50 paid at the council online event reservation system (EMS)http://www.bsacac.org/ or reservations will be accepted by mail to the address below:Course will be limited to 50 participants.
