Dear Chiefs of Staff of the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee (ENR) and the Nebraska Senate Delegation,
This is outrageous! Reports by Yahoo Finance (December 18) and The Hill (January 10)in context with ENR actionsleave us
to conclude there is no public transparency in ENRs rationale for legislative assistance to the petroleum industry.
It appears that ENR has not done an objective, quantitative and transparent analysis of the alternative solutions and sensitivity to
assumptions. How can ENR create policy built on petroleum without assurances that the CEOs and Boards of Directors will act
in the Public and National Interest when to do so conflicts with their fiduciary duty during times of financial crisis?
It is further outrageous that none of the members of ENR nor the Nebraskan Senators has responded to my letters and emails
with anything more than Thank you for expressing your concerns. A potential threat to National Security, let alone the "Public
Interest and National Interest warrants at least an acknowledgement and explanation why it is apparently not of any concern to
the Senators.
Demand testimony and assurances that CEOs will act in the Public and National Interest when there is a conflict with their
fiduciary duty. As part of an energy policy, ENR should compel them to act in our best interest, not just in investors interests.
Sincerely,
Doug Grandt
