Th
eOrganization continues to meet withDepartment and City officials to discuss thedisparity of treatment and to reduce the equalitygaps that minorities are faced with every day inthis Department. We meet with communityorganizations to collaborate our efforts toaddress community problems and needs. Weparticipate in recruiting African Americans intothe Department, and we support politicalcandidates who are committed to buildcoalitions to include minorities in the decisionmaking positions within the City and theDepartment.We pay tuition twice a year for our members toreceive training anywhere in the United Statesor even out of the country, if they desire. Wepay attorney consultation fees or a portion of the legal cost / fees for our members when theyinitiate law suits against the Department fordiscrimination or unfair treatment in the workplace. We support children in the communityby giving scholarships each year along withscholarships for the children of our ownmembers. We provide up to $500.00 a year forcollege tuition reimbursement for each memberto encourage our members to complete theirformal education and enable them to competein the promotion processThe below list of activities highlight some of the many activities/accomplishments that OJBhas achieved this year. If you are not a memberof OJB, it is our hope that with all of the thingsthat we offer as an organization and the belowlist of activities / accomplishments it willinspire you to join this progressiveOrganization.

OJB held a Promotional Mixer to honorCommander M. Williams, Commander J.Greer, Captain III E. Nathan, Captain III R.Scott, Captain III W. Scott and Captain I TiaMorris.This was a wonderful event held at the PoliceAcademy Lounge Elysian Park.

OJB made a financial donation to the PoliceMemorial Foundation for the purchase of numerous prototyped LAPD police badges thatwas given to police officers from agencies allover the world that attend the Police Memorialin honor of our brother officers that died in theline of 
duty.

OJB made a donation for the purchase of ashadow box for our beloved brother Deputy
