YWAM OXFORD - March 2010
FROM THE DIRECTOR...
This is my last“from the director”article. One,because we aredoing away withthe title andreplacing it with“Team Leader”,and two, because Susanne and I are headingout to Turkey and Jeremy will fill the new role.Jeremy is from Indiana, USA and has beenworking with YWAM Oxford, specifically theAround the World in 80 Days DTS, since 2005.He is a young man with a passion for theunreached and a vision as large as the world. He is a worshiper, an intercessor, a discipler and a missions’ mobiliser. We are confidentthat he is the man of God’s choosing and, along with his staff team, will take YWAMOxford forward into God’s plans for us in thetwenty tens.Susanne and I, along with others from here, will be based in Turkey, facilitating themobilisation of short-term mission teams andlong term workers from New Zealand,Australia and the Pacific Islands. ANZAC2015is the name we have given to this initiative tocall and host as many “ANZACs” in Turkey aswe can in leading up to the 2015Gallipolicentenary. We want to mark this centenary byblessing Turkey in every possible way we canthrough the love of Christ.2009 saw the completion of our new building, the establishment of King’s Kids ministry, theintroduction of the Earthcare DTS led by Rob& Jenny, and the Father’s Love CrossroadsDTS led by Caroline. 2010 will see theintroduction of two new second level schools:Construction for Missions and School of Frontier Missions. As we continue to grow, we increasingly needcommitted, long-term staff. We are in excitingtimes. Maybe God is calling you! Perhaps our needs will fit your calling, skills andexperience. Drop us a line and let’s starttalking.Chris

Team Leader
As Chris previously stated, my name is Jeremy Slough and I’m steppinginto the role as Team Leader on base. For the last five years I’ve been apart of the Around the World in 80 Days (AW80) DTS here at YWAMOxford as student, staff, and school leader and I must say that thesehave been some of the best years of my life. I feel so privileged to be apart of YWAM and more specifically, to be a part of YWAM in Oxford asthis place really feels like home.Honestly, I had many reservations about accepting this role with itschallenges and all my unanswered questions, but with time and prayer Icould not deny what God was asking of me for this season. This wasclearly not an idea or desire of my own, but one that was God driven. This new season is one of fully trusting and relying on Him for wisdom, direction, and peace. My excitement is growing as the pace around here is picking up. I’vequickly discovered that most of my time is not so much “being in theoffice” as it is just being available for people in corporate and individualsettings. These first few weeks I’ve been getting settled into the officeand my apartment, while familiarizing myself with the day-to-day functioning of the base.Additionally, the AW80 DTS and the Biblical Core Course are in full swing and we have recently graduatedthe Backpacker and Father’s Love DTS’s.It truly is a blessing and honor to be involved with God’s story in this place. I am excited as I consider whatHe has planned for YWAM Oxford and the lives that will be changed because of what takes place here.Trusting Him,Jeremy Slough
Hospitality Staff
Greetings to all from New Zealand! I grew up in various parts of the United States of America. My family has a heart for adventure and the passion was definitely contagiouswhen it came to my upbringing. I love to explore the world and see as much of God'sglorious creation (including PEOPLE and their unique cultures) as He allows me. I've beeninvolved with YWAM off and on since 2003. Each time I come back God takes me giantsteps forward in this amazing walk with Him. As I've opened up to Him and said "yes" to thecall, He has transformed me and my focus (Eph. 5:1-2--> "Imitate God, therefore, ineverything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following theexample of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma toGod.") My heart stirs within me for missions and servant hood. Both of these are standardshere in YWAM. I love being a part of a vision that encompasses the qualities for which Istrive. I am in a place where my strengths are not limited but sharpened and encouraged. God is alwayswithin reach and ready to impact an open heart and willingness to serve.- Mackenzie

Around the World DTS
It is with great pleasure that I share with you the current Around the World in 80 Days Discipleship TrainingSchool. We are well under way, and excited about the group of people that the Lord has gathered togetherfor this season. We have 35 Students from 8 nations and 11 wonderful staff. God
s hand has been directingthis school for some time now and we see the HUNGER of these students even early on.Some themes the Lord has been highlighting are INTIMACY and VICTORY. We are pressing into this andseeking HIS face. I feel as our intimacy grows we will continue to grow in our walks of victory. Intimacy withthe Father is our greatest desire. We will be sending 6 teams to 24 countries. The focus will be on justice and bringing the Kingdom ofHeaven to each country we journey. We are hoping to reach out to some new locations this year.My heart
s desire is that we will simply step into true intimacy with the Father. I long for this community tofall more in love with Jesus and to let His love transform us each day. It is only from this place that we caneven think of going out to the nations. It is in this place of intimacy that we are drawn to the nations. Will RosenbergAW80 DTS SCHOOL DIRECTORwww.willrosenberg.com
