 The American people now stand at a crossroads. If we truly believe we have hadenough of our liberties being swept away by our federal government, then what isthe next plan of action? There are many differed beliefs in what that step should be.Some think we should simply stop paying our taxes. Some think we should elect anew regime of men and women to represent us. Others still believe nothing willchange without an all out rebellion. Who among us is willing to lose everything forthe cause of preserving our Constitution and saving our Republic?
"Unhappy it is, though, to reflect that a brother's sword has beensheathed in a brother's breast and that the once-happy plains of Americaare either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?" – GeorgeWashington
When the Founders signed the Declaration of Independence, each one of those menknew exactly what they were doing and the probability of what was to be lost. Theywere signing an act of treason.In the case that stands before us, the federal government has convinced most of the people of this great nation that if we are to resist them, we are also committingan act of treason. That is not so. They have distorted the Constitution to includepowers that were never meant to belong to the federal government and havetherefore committed treason against their own people. Who will stand against thesetreasonous acts?Let’s look at the document that began the first revolution for this country and seewhat our role is in this time of history.
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one peopleto dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, adecent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should 
 
declare the causes which impel them to the separation. – Declaration of Independence
Our representatives in Washington have gradually, but continually swept away therights and liberties given to us by God and the Constitution. Like boiling a frog, thefederal government put the people in the pot long ago and has been slowly turningup the heat for decades.Why should the American people finally resist the current government in place? TheFounders spelled out their causes and so must we.1.Entitlement Programs such as Welfare, Medicaid, Medicare and HealthcareAs with many laws, the morality behind these programs was of goodintentions. But none the less, they were created by emotion. In order topreserve the liberty of one without destroying the liberty of another, a personneeds to look at the situation with an unbiased eye, taking out emotion,which is difficult. But caring for the needy should not be forced on anyone.Grover Cleveland said:
The friendliness and charity of our countrymencan always be relied upon to relieve their fellow citizens inmisfortune … Federal aid in such cases encourages the expectationof paternal care on the part of the Government and weakens thesturdiness of our national character, while it prevents theindulgence among our people of that kindly sentiment and conduct which strengthens the bonds of a common brotherhood.
2.The Patriot Act The federal government has given itself the right to spy on its own citizens. The civil liberties of all Americans have never been more subjugated thanthey have with this single piece of legislation.http://epic.org/privacy/terrorism/hr3162.html3.Second Amendment RestrictionsGeorge Mason of Virginia explained it best -
When the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the BritishParliament was advised by an artful man, who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly,but weaken them, and let them sink gradually...I ask, who are themilitia? They consist of now of the whole people, except a few publicofficers. But I cannot say who will be the militia of the future day. If that paper on the table gets no alteration, the militia of the futureday may not consist of all classes, high and low, and rich and poor...
