Step by Step:

1. Mark out the front and back of the house onto some medium weight whitecardstock. The size is your choice but as a guide mine is 20.3 cm (8’’) high at theapex of the roof and 11.4 cm (4 ¼’’) high on the sides of the house. I have mademy roof curved for added interest but the choice is yours and you could makeyour roof edges straight if you wish. Add 1.3 cm (½’’) to the bottom and roof edge of the outline as in the diagram. These will be the tabs that join the piecestogether.2. Cut out the front and back pieces on the #1060 trimmer using the straightedge click blade #2801.3. Change blades in the freestyle mouse to the scoring click blade # 2811 andusing the pointer on the front of the mouse follow the tab lines on your pieces sothey will fold easily later.4. Cut a small circle in the front piece using a craft knife.5. Snip triangles with scissors into the roof line tabs at approximately 1.3 cm (½’’) intervals to allow the card to curve when thepiece is assembled.6. Cut two rectangles from the medium weight cardstock on the #1060 smart trimmer using the straight edge click blade #2801.7. Again change the click blade to the scoring click blade # 2811 andscore in 1.3 cm (½’’) on one long side and the two short sides. Cut awaythe two small squares an each corner. These two pieces make the sidesof the house.8. Trim a rectangle of the medium weight card 32.4 cm (12 ¾’’) long x14 cm (5 ½‘’) wide on the #1050 smart trimmer using the straight edgeclick blade # 2801 and again swapping the click blade to the scoringblade # 2811 score in 1.3 cm (½’’) in on each short side then score thewhole piece in half to create the roof base.9. To make the base of the house cut a rectangle in the mediumweight cardstock 12.1 cm x 8.9 cm (4 ¾’’ x 3 ½’’).

10. Cover the front, back, sides and base of the house with the Dove of the East papers. Top tip! Apply permanent adhesive with the glue gliderpro around the outside of the piece but NOT the tabs and then stick facedown onto the back of the paper. Use the outline of each piece as aguide to cut around with a craft knife this way you ensure an exact t.Ink all the edges with Clear snaps ink.11. Using the # 1060 smart trimmer and straight edge click blade#2801 trim 4 strips of the Dove of the East paper 14.6 cm (5 ¾’’) long x2.5 cm (1’’) wide. Fold these pieces in half using the scoring blade #2811in the freestyle mouse if you wish. On one side of the strip snip awaytriangles at 0.6 cm (¼’’) intervals up to the score line and on the otherside cut a freehand scallop edge with scissors making the points go tothe fold NB obviously do not meet up the points of the triangles andscallops on the score line! These will make the decorative eves of theroof and the cutting allows them to follow the curve of the roof.12. Using the straight edge blade # 2811 in the freestyle mouse andusing the #1060 smart trimmer cut another strip of the Dove of the Eastpaper 14 cm (5 ½’’) long and 2.5 cm (1’’) wide, fold this in half and cut afreestyle scallop edge along both long edges with scissors. This will bethe trim for the top of the roof.13. Finally cut two strips of the Dove of the East paper 14 cm (5 ½’’) long and 1.3 cm (½’’) wide. Cut one long edge into a freestylescallop and these will be the trims for the overhang of the roof edges.14. Join the front, back and sides with strong all purpose adhesive on the tabs. Make a long line then nally make the shape upinto the rectangle on the last join.15. Folding in the tabs on the bottom and applying strong wet adhesive to these tabs attach the bottom of the house.16. Apply strong wet adhesive along the snipped tabs of the roof eves and position the long rectangle of the roof piece. It willoverlap front and back and needs to be manipulated into position until you are happy and the glue is set.17. Using the all purpose wet adhesive attach the 4 eve pieces to the roof edges.18. Again with the all purpose wet adhesive attach the trims on the roof overhangs at either short end.
