SLAVERY BEGAN BEFORE THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN

There were slaves in the world before the first five Books of the Bible were written. Read
your History : Slavery started before the Bible was written .

People find it difficult to relate to the word “...slavery...”.

People may not be slaves to someone else just like the children of Israel were slaves to the
Egyptians before the First Exodus .

However, one way or another, like someone said, “...everybody has got to Serve
somebody....”.

Some people “.... may serve this and others may serve that...but everybody has gotta serve
somebody...”.

There is physical slavery where a man can be a slave to his slave master just like how Moses
parents were slaves to the Egyptians.

There is spiritual slavery where unregenerate man becomes a religious slave is enslaved by
the false teachings of false prophets and false preachers and false anointed ones.

The Lord Jesus Christ said “... the truth shall make you free...”. ( John 8 verse32 ).

Mankind were created in the image of God. Man is spirit. Man has a body.

Man has a soul. The spirit of man has a desire to worship God in spirit and in

Truth and not be enslaved by doctrines of devils and teachings of false prophets.

Mankind cannot serve two masters. ( Matthew 6 verse 24 ).

There are two laws in life. The Law of life and the law of death.

Someone said “.... if you are born once , you die twice . if you are born twice you die
once.....”. They were speaking about a sinner repenting of their sins and being born again.

The Bible says that “...All have sinned and come short of the glory of God ; ...” (Romans 3
verse 23 ).

Mankind may serve the law of Life and live or serve the Law of death and die.

Deuteronomy 30 verse 19 and 20 says :

“....I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20. That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that
thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest

dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob,
to give them.......”.

Man is a free moral agent makes choices every day in life. The choices one makes impacts
on their destination at the end of days of their sojourn on earth.

Moses, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote the first five books of the Bible :
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy .

Moses was one of forty men that God used over a period of about 1600 hundred years to
write the Bible. There are 39 Books in the Old Testament and 27 Books in the New
Testament.

Contrary to some uneducated guesses slavery was in existence before the Bible was written.

Students of History know that the Children of Israel were slaves in Egypt.

Moses parents were slaves in the land of Egypt.

Exodus Chapter 1 says :

“.........Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man
and his household came with Jacob.

2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4 Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in
Egypt already.

6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and
waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and
mightier than we:

10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when
there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get
them up out of the land.

11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their

burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were
grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:

14And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all
manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with
rigour.

15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was
Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them
upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall
live.

17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but
saved the men children alive.

18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this
thing, and have saved the men children alive?

19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the
Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.

20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very
mighty.

21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall

cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive...........”.

The Children of Israel were slaves in the land of Egypt. ( Deuteronomy 15 verse 15 ). Their
days of slavery typed out individuals being slaves to a religious system.

As a nation Israel was called out of Egypt. As individuals , the individual is called out of
slavery to false teachings, false doctrines, false prophetic teachings by false prophets and
false anointed ones.

“.... And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD
thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day......”.

Slavery is wrong. The worst kind of slavery is religious slavery to blind fanatical teachings.
The blind leading the blind. ( Matthew 15 verse 14 ). The dead burying the dead. ( Matthew
8 verse 22 ).

You may recall that Moses mother had placed baby Moses in “........an ark of bulrushes ....
daubed with slime and with pitch , and put the child therein ; and she laid it in the flags by
the rivers brink......”. ( Exodus 2 verse 3 ).

In Exodus 2 verse 5 to 10 we find out how Moses got his name “MOSES” :

“......And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens
walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her
maid to fetch it.

6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had
compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.

7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew
women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.

9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will
give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.

10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her
son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.....”.

“...God made man, then man made slaves....”. The Bible teaches that man is made in the
image of God. ( See Genesis 1 verse 26 ).

God is a Spirit. ( John 4 verse 24 ). The true worshippers of God “...worship the Father in
spirit and in Truth....”. ( John 4 verse 24 ).

To worship God in Spirit and in Truth, a person has to be born again. ( John 3 verse 3 to ).

To be born again, a person must be born “...by the Word of Truth...”. ( James 1 verse 18 ).

Do some religions make people slaves to religion ? Individuals may ask them if their religion
promotes fear and hatred and theft and adultery and murder and all manner of wicked sins.
If it does then it is not of God.

Animals are caged in zoos. Religious leaders entrenched in the Babylonian System of religion
with their apostate false teachings and doctrines of devils have ensnare and captured the
minds of innocent innocent individuals and enslaved them to false creeds and dogmas .

Man was born to be free. Man was created to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

Lucifer, the devil began a false religion of worship to deceive the multitudes.

The cry of redemption and deliverance goes out unto everyone that is honest in heart and
desires to worship God in spirit and in truth :

“....Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that receive not of
her plagues.....” . ( Revelation 18 verse 4 ).

There are many religions in the world today. Their doctrines and creeds have nothing to do
with telling mankind who they are, where they come from or where they are going to ; nor
do they have much to say about the creation and fall of man and the plan of redemption by
predestination ; nor do they speak about worshipping God in spirit and truth ; nor do they
speak about God in Creation, God in Regeneration and God in Redemption ; nor about the
Ten commandments nor about loving your neighbour as yourself, nor about doing unto
others what you want them to do unto you , and much more that we could speak of.

The Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 7 verse 15 to 18 :

“..... Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are
ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil
fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them......”.

The word of false religion and false prophets will not do. They donot save or redeem the
soul and they do not give true hope of the resurrection .

Who is a false prophet ?

1 John 4 verses 1 to 8 says :

“.......... Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because
many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in
the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and
this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now
already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you,
than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.
Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of
God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.............”.
