ABSTRACT
Inulin degradation fungi are microorganism that can produc extra
cellular inulinase to hydrolyse inulin molecules to fructose
monomers or fructoolygosaccharide. Inulolitic fungi were isolated
from dahlia tubers rhizosphere were that collected from in Padang
Panjang, West Sumatra. Three fungi strains that grew on medium
containing inulin as the sole carbon and energy source produced
clear zones around the colonies. The highest activity isolate was
identified as Geotrichum sp., with a halo zone ratio of 2.3 mm and
produced reducing sugar (fructose) 1,64mg/ml.
