The Life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has been a topic for many books and studies. Gulen's approach to the life of Rasulullah, "the pride of humanity." is not cronical biography. It differs from other books on the Prophet in the sense that Gülen assumes a psychological and sociological analysis on the various aspects of the Prophet's life portraying him as a compassionate father, a profound spiritual leader, a wise statemen, a courageous commander, a loving husband, a most reliable and trustworthy person.

Reviews
I believe, when a Christian reads the book thoroughly, he will also realize the true wisdom of Christ.
-- Huiqiu Huang, Dept. of Religion Chair, Fu-jen, Catholic University, Taiwan

The author has written the work with deep love for the Messenger of God, a love which suffuses every line.
-- Ahmed Bahgad, Al Ahram, Egypt

About the Author
Born in Erzurum, in eastern Turkey, in 1941, M. Fethullah Gülen is anIslamic scholar and thinker, and a prolific writer and poet. He wastrained in the religious sciences by several celebrated Muslim scholarsand spiritual masters. Gülen also studied the principles and theories of modern social and physical sciences. Based on his exceptional skills inlearning and focused self-study, he soon surpassed his peers. In 1959,after attaining excellent examination results, he was awarded a statepreacher’s license (in Edirne), and was promoted to a post in Izmir, Tur-key’s third largest province, in 1966. It was here that Gülen started tocrystallize his theme and expand his audience base. In his sermons andspeeches he emphasized the pressing social issues of the times: his par-ticular aim was to urge the younger generation to harmonize intellectualenlightenment with wise spirituality and a caring, humane activism.Gülen did not restrict himself to teaching in the inner cities. Hetraveled around the provinces in Anatolia and lectured not only inmosques, but also at town meetings and corner coffee houses. This en-abled him to reach a more representative cross-section of the populationand to attract the attention of the academic community, especially thestudent body. The subject matter of his speeches, whether formal or in-formal, was not restricted explicitly to religious questions; he also talkedabout education, science, Darwinism, about the economy and social justice. It was the depth and quality of his speeches on such a wide rangeof topics that most impressed the academic community, and won theirattention and respect.Gülen retired from formal teaching duties in 1981, having inspired awhole generation of young students. His efforts, dating from the 1960s,especially in educational reform, have made him one of the best-knownand respected figures in Turkey. From 1988 to 1991, he gave a series of sermons as preacher emeritus in some of the most famous mosques inmajor population centers, while continuing to deliver his message in theform of popular conferences, not only in Turkey, but also in WesternEurope.
Main Ideas
In his speeches and writings Gülen envisions a twenty-first century inwhich we shall witness the birth of a spiritual dynamic that willrevitalize long-dormant moral values; an age of tolerance,
