Mr. Tracy Thompson:

Hi my name is Gicela Barron I am eight-teen years old I am a student here at Lindsay

Community School. I am really concerned about the school lunches that were receiving here at
our school.

I am really concerned about the lunches that are given at our school. Most of the foods we are
getting have lots of ingredients that are not healthy for us especially pregnant girls. Such as the
foods like Hot Pockets, Pizza, Crackers, these things contain spelling that we don’t even know
how to pronounce, that indicates that we do not even know what we are putting in our bodies.
Like for example, the Hot Pockets include ingredients like riboflavin, sodium tripolyphosphate,
yeast, dehydrated garlic, sugar, salt tricalcium phosphate. These things are not only given to us
these foods are given to our children and it’s time to put a stop to it. These foods can lead to
overweight and obese people. I would like for us to receive more fruits and vegetables. If we
continue eating these things then our kids are going to start eating the same foods.

I would like to thank you for having the time to read my letter. Also I would appreciate if you
can make a change to this problem that all the students at my school have including myself.

Sincerely,Gicela Barron
