Good thoughts! I have not been a traveler, perhaps because I need some stable base to stabilize myself against a world that sometimes overwhelms me. Perhaps I say, because I realize that when I travel one thing seems to stay the same; I change the scenery, but I pack up all the same problems that I am overly attached to (as someone said, "wherever you go there you are.") I remember vacation trips when I was young, in which my family would rush around, hurrying to get as many sights contained in the smallest amount of time. Who needs this/ The traveling I have enjoyed, is traveling in anthers mind, making up stories to my self about why they do what they do (stories which change as my understanding deepens). Sometimes this is in books, but the best times it is in conversation. The voyages through conversation are the ones I treasure the most. Thank you for sharing! :-)

8. "It’s like a little drop of water going into sea. It makes it complete not that when its away its not water, still it’s the same but when enter sea it has come home, its only ego which stops, which can stop a drop going into the sea."

7. Samvit, I am so happy to see that you are gaining followers. I mean this in the sense of "following your works" not following "you." You have many appreciative readers. Myself included (although I do not fully understand everything, I always coma away with something deep to think about.)

Not all of us have the means to go on an actual "big" pilgrimage...say to Mecca, or Jerusalem...or some other "Holy Place."

That should never stop anyone from creating their own "mini pilgrimage." It's symbolic. You can create your own "Special Place" for various reasons. I have one that I want to share.

My husband and I go to a special place by the sea. We have to go through a long "tunnel" to get there. The tunnel is symbolic for us. When we emerge through to the other side...we leave ALL THINGS BEHIND.

When we come out on the other side and get to our special destination...we just talk, read, write in our journals, spend time together, appreciate the Earth, and Moon and Stars
and walk along the ocean a lot. It's reflective time for us in our relationship. (It's my "Releasing the Buddha Within" time.)

No phones, TV, computer, nothing but us and nature and books...and the Earth. It is the most mind-clearing pilgrimage for us. We gain so much from considering our spirituality at that time.

We make that pilgrimage only once a year...because it is special. A special event.

"Holistic& quot; summed up some points in your article nicely, I think, "...all in what the person is wanting to get out of the experience, setting an intent, yet being able to adjust if there is change along the path towards the goal of the journey to whatever place."

Alo ng those lines, remember, you can make your own Pilgrimage to "Whatever Place" as long as it works for you!

(You go, Samvit!)

6. Hello dear and newest friend! As I have promised, I have read this first article. And not little was my surprise! I had no expectation for such depth. I find it amazing! I admire your capability of seeing beyond the obvious! And yet, there is still so much more to be said. But if at least half of the people I know would take their time and try to see life through your eyes, I have no doubt that the world would become a much better place. Bravo!

5. Samvit, I always enjoy reading your articles. You always cause me to pause and think about what you have said. Wonderful. This is a good article about the thoughts dealing with pilgrimage and travel. It is all in what the person wants to get out of the experience, setting intent, yet being able to adjust if there is change along the path towards the goal of the journey to whatever place. I also love that you include writing as a pilgrimage, Indeed it is, I just had not seen this point of view and now I am excited to see what I am doing with my poetry and articles in this way. How wonderful. See, I always get something when I drink from your well. :) Life is good.

4. When we are looking outside it’s our view from inside which makes all the difference. And still people try to look and find God outside. Buddha never looked out side and still we look at the Buddha, not his consciousness but is compassion. compassion is outside , we can see it but its the consciousness which makes all the difference, as Osho used to say you can never get the byproducts 1st , 1st we have to look for the miraculous inside and so there will be marvels every where.
Grate work Samvit.

3. What I think is very interesting is to see that is defined as "the course of life on earth". I hope that there are people that take full advantage of the pilgrimage during their life to really understand the journey within there self’s and see the beauty of outside and the world cultures and changing. Very good article. Keep up this work.

2. I must say is very interesting how you related pilgrimage with traveling. I found the definition:
Main Entry: 1pil•grim•age
Pronunciation: \ˈpil-grə-mij\
Function: noun
Date: 14th century
1: a journey of a pilgrim; especially: one to a shrine or a sacred place
2: the course of life on earth

1. Hi, Samvit. Huge issue. Very good your article. Despite I was born and lived in Argentina for 40 years, it's about 20 I'm living in a city facing the Read Sea, including the culture's change this means. Of course this is not pilgrimage, but it has something related with it. What an energy you breath here...
It was very nice to read you.
Have an overwhelming day, my friend.
