Disk Preparation for ASM
Go to the Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) snap-in.Shrink the existing Volume to reclaim space for new drives.For ASM usage, this has to be done on the Basic disk, not Dynamic one.Create a new partition. This can be primary partition or extended partitions.On the un-allocated space of a new partition, create a new volume from
“New Simple Volume”.
