NCDC & Oasis Site Leader Responsibilities
Please read through the following list and descriptions carefully.As an NCDC/Oasis site leader, you are expected to fulfill the following duties. Fulfilling these responsibilities iscrucial as it will contribute significantly to the mission of NCDC/Oasis and improve volunteer experiences for bothyou and your volunteers. By applying to be a site leader, you are committing yourself to the following tasks.
Spring
•
MANDATORY Site Leader Transition meeting (date is still being deciding but will occur the week of May17th)
o
Meeting with NCDC and Oasis Site Coordinators and fellow site leaders
o
Meeting with outgoing site leaders from your site
•
Familiarizing yourself with your site and the site contact
•
Meet with your co-site leader to set up days and times that you plan to volunteer.
•
Touch base with your site contact to confirm days, times, to set goals for the year, and to invite them to theFall Volunteer Fair.
Fall
•
Site-leader retreat/training on first week of fall quarter. (Date of this meeting is still being decided)
•
Transportation training, if necessary. Van training procedures will be covered at the site-leader training.Van liability lies with the site leaders. This will be further discussed.
•
Attend the Fall Volunteer Fair (2
nd
week of fall quarter) where you will need to create posters to advertiseyour site, and recruit volunteers for your site.
Year-Round
•
Each set of site leaders will work with their site to plan programs or small events throughout the year (forexample, bring a dance group to your site, or bring your site to a Northwestern basketball game!)
•
As a member of NCDC and Oasis, you are expected to participate in these organizations’ activities, such asProject Pumpkin, Senior Gala, and Arts Fest, and to volunteer your time and energy as necessary.
•
As the liaison between your site and NCDC/Oasis, you will be expected to help build community byintegrating your site and your volunteers into our community events.
•
File weekly site reports on your volunteer progress.
•
Attend quarterly site leader meetings with your friendly co-chairs in order to bring your experience back tocampus.
•
Stay on top of your site. Keep us updated about any changes and issues. Keep recruiting, and stay in touchwith your volunteers and co-site leader.

Share your site experiences at an NCDC/OASIS exec meeting once per year
•
VOLUNTEER!
Site Leader relationship with Site Coordinators
As a site leader, you should keep your Site Coordinators posted on any good news, problems and concerns. Youshould also feel free to use the Site Coordinators as a resource and turn to them for any kind of assistance, support orhelp that you need. They are there to help you with the running of your site.
Site Leader relationship with volunteers
As a site leader, you should first and foremost lead by example. While you may not be able to attend EVERYsession at the volunteer site, you should attend ALMOST ALL the sessions. This will impact the kind of relationshipyou have with your volunteers and the site.
