Salvador Mallen on 2006 with the work "vida" international first price CEVISAMA, engineering design.

“Vida” by Salvador Mallén, won the Indistile prize for its contribution to ceramic tile design, its elegant shape and the process by which it was conceived.
The project breaks with classical two-dimensionality and replaces rigidity with sinuous curves that bring the tiles to life, giving the impression that they flow off the wall. Aside from the infinite variations that can be created with this design, the tiles also afford heat and sound insulation.

This issue reviews the 24th CEVISAMA.The photographs and text say it all:this was the best exhibition yet on allcounts. The targets we reached, bothquantitatively and qualitatively, werevery high – but we aim high.In 2007 we will be celebrating the25th anniversary of CEVISAMA. Wewill celebrate the past by laying firmfoundations for building andpreparing for the future. A futurethat will be built from a basis of solidexperience, collaboration with theindustries involved and the inclusionin recent years of important aspectsof the industry such as innovation andthe cutting edge.We are building a path that we wantto lead to CEVISAMA becoming theexhibition that is the global point ofreference for trends in ceramic tilesand bathroom furnishings. We wantto establish and strengthen links withthe world of architecture and interiordesign. We want the whole world tolook to us as one of the internationaldesign forums. This year a number of big nameslinked themselves, one way oranother, to CEVISAMA, from membersof the jury judging the competition tothe winners themselves, from thespeakers at the D. Design Workshopsto the EXCO lecturers, one majorname followed another over the fivedays of the event. This is the best wayto begin a promising future.
