In retrospect, some of the opinions in this article seem quite naive. There are some shady operators in the publishing business who exploit individuals, and print on demand companies come in many different shapes and sizes. For the sake of clarity, the type of service which I was talking about was where the printer does the job, makes the delivery, and that's it. Don't be fooled into accepting additional services from POD company, since they're almost always vastly inflated. Still, I hope this article is of some use, and as originally promised, I'll update it some time soon.
