JANUARY 2005
PAGE 3
2004 was a great year for NCRR and Rottweilers in need!
Without NCRR
Voluntees and Supporters of NCRR, 67 companion pets could not have
been placed in forever loving homes.
2005 is going to be NCRR's best
year yet.
As Jennifer Conley, Newsletter Editor, says More Rotties
alive in '05!
NCRR's Ruby traveled all the way to Boston, MA to her forever home.Donna Chancey drove down to NC from MA to meet her new family member
and drove back the next day.
Whew what a drive!
Donna has since
become a volunteer of NCRR and continues to keep us informed of Ruby's
new life. It is so nice to hear from the adoptive families regarding
how their new family member is doing.
NCRR held it's first "Rottie Raiser" in December and will hold two
"Rottie Raisers" this year, one in June and one in October.
Last year
there was a selection of candles, Pet items, Entertainment books and
Rottweiler Cards to choose from.
This year NCRR will be offering a
larger selection of items for everyone's taste.
If you are interested
in participating in the Rottie Raiser Fundraiser, please email NCRR at
ncrottierescue@gmail.com
NCRR will also be hosting it's first annual Rott N Roll Event, my
dream event.
After four years of thought,
NCRR is finally in a place
where we can plan and hold Rott N Roll.
Rott N Roll will take place
in Raleigh in the fall and will include many activities for the public
to enjoy. Activities will include Live Music, a Parade for all breeds
of companion pets, a Raffle, an Auction with many interesting items to
bid on, Dog and Owner Photography, Food Vendors, Crafts, A Grooming
Booth, Face Painting for children, Paw Prints for your Favorite
Companion Pet, Obedience Training and Tips, Canine Good Citizen
Testing, Microchipping, Adoption Booths from Area Rescue Groups,
Several Contests for you to enter your companion pet in to win great
prizes, and many more fun things for the whole family to enjoy.
If
anyone you know is interested in participating in Rott N Roll as a
sponsor, a vendor or an attending rescue group, please contact NCRR at
ncrottierescue@gmail.com
Updates will be posted on our website as the
plans come together.
I am very excited about this event and all NCRR
adoptive families will be invited to attend with their companion pets.
NCRR's volunteer and foster home base has grown tremendously since
NCRR's incorporation in 2001.
Many new people opened their homes to
homeless companion pets and made time to attend NCRR adoption and
fundraising events last year.
NCRR started an outreach program to
the needy Rottweilers in the Charlotte area.
This program has carried
over to the New Year and is doing well with new members in this area.NCRR hopes the program will continue to grow in the coming months.
Thank you to all of your for making all the Rottie Dreams come true.
