This year Architecture or Humanitycelebrates its 10th anniversary.
What began as a simple idea to provide designservices to communities in need has transormedinto an international non-prot building changein dozens o countries.
Over the past decade Architecture or Humanity has become one o the world’s largest and most credible designorganizations. Today, more than a quarter o a million people are living, teaching, healing and gathering in buildingsdesigned by our design ellows, chapter members and volunteers. I am truly inspired by all the design proessionalswho come orward to dedicate their time and expertise where they are most urgently needed. Each project we under-take rearms my belie in the power o design to create a more sustainable uture. In times o great need, solutionsare needed more urgently than ever. Two-thirds o the world lives in sub-standard living conditions without access toclean water or sanitation. This requires new thinking - local solutions that can be adapted locally and globally. As weenter into our second decade we are embarking on our rst ever capacity-building campaign. Through this campaignwe in tend to double our budget and impact. Building capacity will help us expand our network, develop strongeronline tools, better support our chapters, respond more quickly in times o great need and reach out to local buildersaround the world. Design is the ultimate renewable resource. Together, we can continue to build a better uture.
