Perhaps you have already spotted us in our orange”
Cheese on Wheels” truck at the
A & P Show on the 6th February in Paparoa or you might
have come across us elsewhere as yes you have guessed
right we are a mobile cheese shop traveling all over the
North and as far down as Auckland North Shore.
Owners Peter & Thea Simays have lived in Pahi Road,
Paparoa for the last 10 yrs and have plenty of experience
in the cheese business. Growing up in the Netherlands “a
land of plenty where cheese is concerned” developed in
them the taste and passion for cheese.
Markets in Europe are a natural part of daily life and
would not be complete without a mobile cheese shop were
you can taste before you buy and have the cheese cut to
the required size. When unemployment challenged Peter
& Thea they decided to introduce the mobile cheese shop
concept here in NZ. The purchase of the Toyota Dyna
Truck was the first step of many. Thanks for the help and
support of many in our community, now 6 month later the
fully cooled mobile cheese shop is fully health licensed by
Kaipara and other councils, and ready for trading.
The mobile shop “Cheese on Wheels” travels around dif-
ferent places selling quality award winning cheeses di-
rectly imported from Europe. They also have a small range
organic, chemical free chutneys, venison salamis and free
range pork products from Te Rata Family Farm of
Paparoa.
Offering to buy directly from their home address at 221
Pahi Road on Wednesday’s between 4.30 - 5.30 pm will
continue if the demand is there from the local and sur-
rounding communities. Every Wednesday in February is
part of their trial run so please ring us first to check out
