Power and Justice

Seek justice, and finding balance

In human affairs,
Discover a more peaceful place
Amongst the nations
Wary of each otherʼs intent
On their boundaries;
While men covet what they perceive
As rightfully theirs
Across the walls that divide them
Into warring clans.
Precarious is that lone point
Wherein lies wisdom,
Meting out the wealth of nations

Jealous neighbors crave.

Search for power and find chaos
In the equation
E=mc2 or
Life devouring life,
The hierarchy in natureʼs way
Choosing the elect
In the struggle for survival.
Listen carefully
As a million starving voices
Rise up in whispers
Above the din of warfare
Raging around them

Justified in the name of God

Who is not the One
Calling us to choose the way of life
Lived for others.
Find Balance and power follows
To lift the burdens
Of those freighted with poverty
And rein in the greed
Of those weighted with abundance.
Power and Justice,
Flowing like water, seek balance
In human affairs
While compassion slowly takes root

In the human heart.
